Varshets is an old Bulgarian settlement. Its name is associated with the warm mineral spring - boiling water - vreshets and hence - Varshets. Others derive its name from a threshing floor - Varshets. Third of the many surrounding mountain peaks. It is mentioned as early as 1576 and 1607.
The village is located in a beautiful valley, on both banks of the Old River /Botunya/, at 394 m above sea level. c., at the foot of Tudorini Kukli peak /1785 m/. It is 22 km from Vratsa, 18 km from Berkovitsa and 26 km from Lakatnik.
The main settlement-creating factor here is the mineral springs. These are warm at 36.4°C, cool to 32.6°C. Their water is carbonate-sulfate-sodium. The wealth of forests, pastures and game in Koznitsa Square, trout in the Botunya River and fertile soils also contributed to the emergence of Varshets. Varshets has a pleasant climate, it is protected from the northern winds, the winter is mild and the summer is cool.
