It is located at a first-class crossroads between Burgas, Yambol, Karnobat, Elhovo, Lozengrad and Edirne, in the middle of the old Bulgarian countryside, known as the flat forest", at 231 m above sea level. It is located 28 km southwest of Burgas.

Suffering from floods caused by the village river, the settlement gradually moved from the low floodplain terrace to the slopes of the northernmost branches of Strandzha. The mild winter usually keeps snow for 4 days, allows the use of the pastures in winter as well, and for this reason the population was engaged in animal husbandry for a long time - sheep breeding, cattle breeding, pig breeding. The inhabitants of the village were famous for making delicious pastrami. Villagers from nearly 40 villages came to the market here. At that time, there were 3 mills, 2 butter mills, a ceramic and a horse-knapping factory.
