Peruštitsa is picturesquely located in the northern foothills of the Rhodope section Chernatitsa at 235 m above sea level. c. It is located 22 km southwest of Plovdiv and 12 km south of Stamboliyski. K. Irecek and Iv. Vazov is called a city and a palanquin, although it was a village. The national poet Ivan Vazov wrote about Perushtitsa: "Homage to you, city, dusty ashes, a terrible witness of a young woman's struggle". Peruštitsa is an old village. It is the successor of the medieval Bulgarian fortress, the population of which, after its destruction, created the settlements of Perushtitsa and Pastrusha, united in 1959.
