Krusevac is pervaded by the spirit of Prince Lazar, a great Serbian noble and army leader of the 14th century. Strengthening his own power and the power of his state, he chose the area on the top of a wide hill all overlooking the confluence of the two Moravas for the capital city. Prince Lazar built Kruševac as a strong for- yo tification, the reminder of which are now only partially preserved remains of a 15 m high donjon tower.
Saint Stephen's Church was built in 1380, as the im court church of the medieval city of Kruševac. The founder of the church was Prince Lazar and it was af named after him, Lazarica. It is one of the first edifices of the Morava School. Shaped as a simplified triconch with a dome, the church was erected on an elevated square pedestal, which makes its silhouette even more prominent. Its narthex is on the west side and there is a square tower above it.
The ornaments can be divided into two groups: images of fantastic birds and animals and geometric ornaments. Kruševacis is located 382 km from the city of Plovdiv. The distance from Kruševac to Istanbul is 788 km.
